Um I work at a grocery store, I get paid for it, therefore it is a real job. It might not be as glamorous, might not pay as much or as important as other jobs are, it‘s still an actual job.

KathyWheeler I think, with the pandemic, we ought to have realized just how important and essential grocery store workers are. 5y

Velvetfur How insulting! As a customer I can see how hard people work in grocery stores, that's what real jobs are, not sitting round in an office piddling about on the internet and doing some work 25% of the time. The pandemic had opened a lot of other eyes to this, I reckon. (yes I have worked in offices and there are people who work hard in them, but there's always a lot that....don't) 5y

kimmypete1 I worked at McD‘s for years, and this always worked my nerve. If you perform work, and you get paid, it‘s a real job. Period. 5y

The_Penniless_Author I agree 1000%. I've always said that everybody should be forced to work a few years in retail/food service to see how difficult those jobs really are. That said, the attitude that character is demonstrating is extremely common (unfortunately), so it rings true for me from an artistic perspective, even if I totally disagree with the viewpoint. 5y
