5 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
From the bestselling author of Escape to the French Farmhouse comes a deliciously feel-good story about making your dreams come true, set in sun-kissed southern Italy. Pre-order your perfect slice of escapism now! ----- A summer escape she'll never forget . . . Lucia has worked hard as a lawyer in Wales, aiming for a big promotion she hopes will shortly come her way. Finally taking a well-earned break at her grandparents' house in southern Italy, the sunshine, lemon trees and her nonna's mouth-watering cooking make her instantly feel at home. But she's shocked to learn that her grandfather is retiring from the beloved family pizzeria and will need to sell. Lucia can't bear the thought of the place changing hands - especially when she discovers her not-quite-ex-husband Giacomo wants to take it over! Then bad news from home forces Lucia to re-evaluate what she wants from life. Is this her chance to carry on the family tradition and finally follow her dreams? Perfect escapism from the author of Escape to the French Farmhouse and The Honey Farm on the Hill. Praise for Jo Thomas: 'Rich, warm and sunny. A story that stays with you long after the last page is turned' Milly Johnson 'The characters went straight to my heart' Katie Fforde 'Like the very best kind of holiday' Lucy Diamond 'A sparkling, heartwarming hug of a story' Miranda Dickinson

Well three days into #JoysOfJune and I'm at 13 hours but only one book finished well and one panned. Going better than I thought though. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Oh this is the perfect beach read. It does also focus on a woman's place in Italian culture and the start of changing times. I really enjoyed this, I wasnt sure at the start but the setting and the characters won me over. The plot is a slow steady burn but the ending I must admit was beautiful. Yes a bit cheesy and predicable but as a bit of a hopeless romantic I loved it. Fitted perfectly with the story and the characters. #Netgalley 4*

A lovely, lighthearted and well written read with some lovable and realistic characters. I loved the descriptions of Italy and the food. It made me feel hungry just reading it! I would love to visit ‘Nonno‘s‘ and try some of Nonna‘s special tomato sauce. I could virtually smell the pizzas! It‘s a charming story, one to get lost in. A great bit of escapism and very heartwarming - I always know I‘m in for a treat when I read a Jo Thomas book.
