My 15 year old son and I were riveted by this when we listened to it in the car this week. Wood does such a good job describing cultures and their differences without being judgmental. He narrates the audiobook himself.

An engaging travelogue in Arabia which the author crosses the countries in the Arabian peninsula
Read this for #readingasia2021 . I may have to count this for multiple countries if I can't get to them this year. :)
Also as my September #bookspin

British author and photographer Levison Wood travels the Arabian Middle East. Ravaged by war, and tormented by terrorism he takes a lot of risks. But he does make it and he learns that prejudices are often just that. With respect for each country and its people he takes the reader along on his adventures and encounters. I hung on his every word. Thanks so much for knowing I‘d love this one Cindy, and sharing it with me ❤️

I am about to start the #NYRBBookClub selection and am also looking forward to Arabia for #ReadingAsia2021. Maps for Lost Lovers is my choice for #FoodAndLit. If I‘m done with the challenges prompts and if I‘m able to resist it until then, I will start Once There Were Wolves. My expectations are sky high!
What a surprise! Thank you so much Cindy for sending me this book ❤️❤️Maybe I should start it right away. I LOVE travel books and am fascinated by the region described 🐫 . Also - the bookmarks are super cool!! 😘
Thank you @squirrelbrain - definitely using the tagged book for #readingasia2021! And yes, the other book is me - even if my Dad thinks it's a bit weird 😂
PS Dad might read tagged book after me!
Levison Wood is the definition of world traveler, and he‘s had some incredible experiences. Here he shares his 6 month trek tracing the paths of his childhood heroes: TE Lawrence, Sir Richard Burton & Wilfred Thesiger. Entertaining, informative and nonjudgmental, Lev shares his journey through some of the most dangerous and feared countries. I loved this travelogue. Thanks again @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB for your challenge #ReadingAsia2021 👇🏼
I bought this book a few weeks back but forget to post #ReadingAsia21 Anyhow, I picked it up this morning and I can‘t put it down. It‘s the BEST type of travelogue; exciting, adventurous, dangerous, entertaining, informative and gives you a sense of each place & person met along the way. It covers SO MANY countries/ not sure which I‘ll pick...maybe more than one ( is that allowed @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB ?!??)
This will work for several countries but for now I‘ll use it for #Syria. #readingasia2021 @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB
