Once Upon a Book Club had $10 grab bags for Black Friday weekend with a mystery book, a bookmark & either a scratch off discount card, a free box coupon or a code for a digital download of a reading journal they charge $12 for in their shop. Mine finally arrived today & while I wish I had gotten a free box or discount instead of the download, the bookmark is cute & the book is one I haven‘t read or own & it has a good Litsy rating.

I'm a gardener so of course I loved this book!

All the men are gone and no one is left except women to tend to the Kew Gardens in London during WWI.

If you need a book that is going to lift your spirits, you won't want to miss THE KEW GARDENS GIRLS.  

It is the most heartwarming book I have read in a while. 5/5

Having been to Kew Gardens a few years ago I can't wait to tuck up into bed with the Gardening Girls after a long day of gardening. 👩🏻‍🌾🎧🧛‍♂️

If you need a book that is going to lift your spirits, a book that will teach you the meaning flowers have, and a book that will have you take a look at the wonderful friendships these characters have and that you hopefully have, you won't want to miss this book. 5/5

Based on real events, The Kew Gardens Girls follows some of the (in this book, fictional) women who took over working in London's Kew Gardens when WWI broke out and the men were sent to the Front. Heaps of suffragette-action and lots of friendships, we get to join them in the ups and downs of life during a part of the war.

Not my favourite writing-wise, but I really, really enjoyed the story. Also I think it may be on sale on #kindle currently?

Sliding into day 2 of #20in4 with this gem of a historical fiction. I have little to no idea what the Kew Gardens is (will be doing some investigative googling asap) but at 17%-ish in I'm loving the characters. Those 3,5 hours were yesterday's “harvest“. Aiming for the 7h-mark today! Hope you're all having a wonderful Saturday ❤️❤️
