Quick read filled with actionable advice. These happiness strategies were not earth-shakingly new to me, but I appreciated the presentation. In particular, I found Buettner‘s approach to be quite practical. As my husband and I plan a move in 2021, this book has me thinking about how we‘ll organize our new home and build relationships in our new community. In the meantime, I can try to build a few of the habits he suggests like eating more veggies.

Finding things I can do more of to improve my happiness in this book. Many ideas here. Lots of highlights I will need to go through and add to my planner as aspirations, inspiration, and action items. Also, I‘m really happy that none of these highlights include a gratitude journal. I like the idea, in theory, but I‘ve never incorporated this concept well into my daily routine.

Suet624 I understand and stand right there beside you. I feel as though I do all of these things and I wouldn‘t say I‘m an overly happy person. 4y
DogMomIrene @Suet624 Thanks! I feel pretty neutral most of the time. I‘m happy in moments, mostly daily, but I don‘t think of myself as being happy or unhappy. This book piqued my interest and I will say that I‘m working on many of the ideas the author presents, but I haven‘t achieved the end-goal state. Work in progress, I guess. 4y
Suet624 As I‘ve gotten older I think neutral is a pretty nice place to live. 😀😀 4y
DogMomIrene @Suet624 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Particularly given the state of America. I spend a good portion of the day with CNN on in the background, so neutral does feel like an achievement. 4y

The author is actually quoting the authors of The World‘s Happiness Report. I‘m learning a lot about other cultures and how they view happiness through Buettner‘s research. Reading this book rather than watching CNN right now is quite helpful.
