I was too tired to finish HER BIG CITY NEIGHBOUR last night, so I polished it off over breakfast while Casey monitored the snow situation out the front window. As others have pointed out, it‘s short on plot but it‘s so full of good food and characters who know what they want and are willing to actually TALK to each other that it‘s still a really enjoyable read. I had a great time watching Amy delight in her new city & the relationships it brings.

Things I liked : the food. Really the Toronto food scene is the star of the story. Amy. So much love for her. She knows herself, knows what she wants. Two adults connecting.

This is not a plot driven story. That kinda bugged me for reasons I still don't understand.

The baking part of today's plan is done. Mini gingerbread. My mom's recipe. 🧺 is also done. Now the fun part pf the day, knitting, movie and reading.
