The Kensington Kidnap: An absolutely gripping cozy murder mystery | Katie Gayle
2 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
A missing teenager, a mysterious cult and a case of mistaken identity just another days work for Epiphany Bloom. Epiphany Pip Bloom is down on her luck. She can barely afford cat food, and just because Most has three legs doesnt mean he eats any less. So she absolutely cant afford to mess up her latest temp job. But when she walks through the door of the private investigation firm, her new boss mistakes her for a missing persons expert. He then charges her with finding Matty Price the teenage son of two A-list celebrities who has mysteriously disappeared from his home in Kensington. It ought to be a disaster, but Pip reckons its actually an opportunity. Shes always been curious (nosy, her mother calls it) and has an uncanny knack for being at the wrong place at the right time (she doesnt want to know what her mother thinks of that). After years of trying to find something shes good at, has Pip managed to walk straight into the job she was born to do? She owes it to herself and poor missing Matty to find out. But searching for Matty takes Pip into the strange, intimidating world of the rich and famous. And it soon becomes clear that some of these peoples love for themselves doesnt extend to their fellow humans. As Pip investigates further, she realises the question isnt whether Matty ran away its whether Pip will find him alive and make it home safely herself... An absolutely brilliant, light-hearted cozy mystery for fans of M.C. Beaton, T E Kinsey, Lauren Elliott and Joanne Fluke, featuring an irresistible new heroine. Readers are loving The Kensington Kidnap I really loved this book, and super excited to know its book one of a series! Pip is such a likeable character, she is such an accident prone woman but her heart is in the right place Such a quirky story that keeps you gripped, making you want more and more. I cant wait for book two! Highly highly recommended. Goodreads reviewer ????? Its a giggle a minute joining Pip in her adventures addictive and amusing I just loved Epiphany Bloom. Shes a fabulously funny, frivolous character who can make the sun shine even on the most gloomy of days. I shall be following this series without a doubt and cant wait for Pips next crazy adventure. Fans of cozy mysteries should find this book a sheer delight! Goodreads reviewer ???? I had a great time reading this book. Pip is such a quirky character, and her antics made me laugh out loud Im looking forward to reading more in this delightful series. Goodreads reviewer ???? I love British mysteries, they truly take you away for a while and always seem to have quirky characters, like Pip herself. Im looking forward to the next entry in this series as only Pip can get herself into these kinds of messes and come out smelling like a rose. Goodreads reviewer ???? I like Golden Age detective stories [so] I expected to be irritated beyond words by a book set in 2020. Instead, I was enthralled and I couldnt put the book down Just accept this as cosy escapism and enjoy it. Goodreads reviewer ????

LinesUponAPage @WJCintron what cute doggie do you have? 4y
JudeCC @Lifeisasnap I have 3!! I have a cocker spaniel, an Australia Shepherd mix and an Australian blue heeler! I‘ll tag you in a picture when they let me take a good photo lol 4y
LinesUponAPage @WJCintron sounds like a party! lol right now we have 4!! Two grand pups we are watching for my daughter who is living until June in a 800sq ft apartment with two kids both are Australian Shepherd minis (The pictured dog is one of them.) a Border Collie (pure energy!!) and a Border Aussie. We are insane. We‘ve had the grandpuppies twice now. Darn kids need to take their dogs. Although, i will hate it when Lucky (pictured dog) goes home. We ❤️ her. 4y
JudeCC @Lifeisasnap 😂 You won!! LOL! Awww They sound all SO CUTE!! My blue heeler is also pure energy! LOL, I love them all!! She likes to bother the cocker spaniel, and she hates that. She wants to play and then the spaniel hates to play with her because she's huge compared to her. LOL! It's fun to watch. 4y
LinesUponAPage @WJCintron i totally get the play thing. Dogs are like kids, different personalities and different energies. Sometimes they drive me bonkers!! 4y

Pickpick

Epiphany (Pip) Bloom was a very accident-prone but likeable character. She ends up being mistaken for someone else in a private investigations firm, and has to solve a missing persons case. The missing person in question is the teenage son of a very famous actress, Madison Price. She is interesting

It was a good time following Pip in her adventures as a fake detective, her skillset relying mainly on what she has seen from tv.

I loved it!
