The Dancing Girls: An absolutely gripping crime thriller with nail-biting suspense | M.M. Chouinard
5 posts | 6 read | 4 to read
Wow, what a book!! I don't think I drew a full breath for the entire time I was reading I took it everywhere I went I needed to read it at every opportunity! Unbelievably twisty I loved every word of it! Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars Jo pulled together the victims pictures. In all cases their arms were askew, in a way that looked likewhat? It was like they were freeze-framed in the middle of some action. It was like they were dancing. When loving wife Jeanine Hammond is found dead in a small leafy town in Massachusetts, newly promoted Detective Jo Fournier is shocked to her core. Why leave her body posed like a ballerina? Why steal her wedding band and nothing else? Hungry for answers, Jo questions Jeanines husband, but the heart-breaking pain written on his face threatens to tear open Jos old wounds. Its the same pain she felt when her boyfriend was cruelly shot dead by a gang in their hometown of New Orleans. She couldnt get justice for him, but shes determined to get justice for Jeanines devastated family. But before Jo can get answers, another woman is found, wedding ring stolen, body posed in the same ritualistic way. Digging through old files, Jo makes a terrifying link to a series of cold cases. She knows a serial killer is on the loose, but nobody will listen to the truth not her bosses, nor the FBI. Still, Jo wont let her superiors keep her from stopping the murderer in his tracks, even if it means the end of her career. Just as she is beginning to lose hope, she finds messages on the victims computers that feel like the crucial missing link. But she knows the murderer is moments away from selecting his next victim. Will she be able to take down the most twisted killer of her career before another innocent life is lost? An absolutely unputdownable and brilliant new crime thriller series that fans of Robert Dugoni, Lisa Regan and Melinda Leigh will devour in one sitting. The first novel in the series with Detective Jo Fournier. The mystery introduces us to the a single man who is a serial killer. The women he likes to kill are married and they each feel somewhat unsatisfied in their marriage. Our killer enjoys the interaction between himself and his targets. There are unusual twists along the way. I kept turning the pages hoping he would be caught…..

Woman are being strangled by a player of games on the internet. He makes friends with them and then meets them somewhere and then kills them. Detective Jo Fournier is taking on this case to find out who these women are and how they met. She finally comes to the conclusion that it's a gamer's nightmare. This is the first book of the Detective Jo Fournier series.

EadieB It has interesting characters who are married but their husbands are not paying much attention to them. This forces them into a relationship online where a serial killer preys upon them. The plot is very unique and ends up with a surprise ending which I didn't see coming. I am now looking forward to reading book 2. If you like surprises with your thriller, then you will love this book. 1y

Holy cow what did I just read?! I happened across this book at my local library and I‘m so glad that I decided to check it out. I had never heard of this author before so I was excited to give it a try and I was not disappointed! This book had a twist that comes out of nowhere and slaps you! I loved it! I‘ve already requested the other books in the series so I‘m excited to read them! Definitely a 5🌟 read!

This book was built on a great premise but overall the story was just not that interesting. This is “book one” in a series, and it felt as if the author spent more time introducing characters than developing the plot. Even the end, which was really surprising (and I loved) was just a cliffhanger for another book. If the story had been more plot driven I would definitely be on the lookout for future books in the series. But after this..Meh 🤷🏻‍♀️

An absolutely gripping crime thriller with nail-biting suspense

The light in her wide brown eyes dimmed as she drew her last breath. She might have been beautiful lying there on the floor, if it wasn‘t for the purple marks on her neck and the angry red line on her finger where her wedding band used to be....
