New York Times bestselling author Sara Holland continues her blockbuster contemporary fantasy series, Havenfall, with this unforgettable sequel.'Sara Holland is a fierce storyteller' STEPHANIE GARBERAfter saving the inn at Havenfall from the wicked Silver Prince, Maddie thought all her problems were over. The Silver Prince has been banished, her uncle the beloved Innkeeper is slowly recovering from a mysterious coma, and there are still a few weeks of summer left to spend with her handsome more-than-just-a-friend Brekken. But danger still looms and Maddie soon realises there's more work to be done to protect Havenfall, the safe haven between worlds that her family has run for centuries. Maddie must embark on a dangerous mission: to venture into the icy Realm of Fiordenkill and put an end to the black market trading of souls that threatens the balance of the Realms. As Maddie tries to accomplish these seemingly impossible tasks, she stumbles upon family secrets that could change everything. What if saving everyone means destroying the only home she's ever known? This next breathtaking fantasy from the bestselling author of Everless is perfect for fans of Melissa Albert and Holly Black.

So far behind on reviews! **Note- there should be a 4th star, but I guess I forgot to edit when I was doing graphics

This is the second of a duology, and I liked it more than the first book, mostly because I was already familiar with the world building. And while there is romance in this fantasy, it's not the focus of the heroine's story, and she doesn't necessarily find her soul mate at 17. Love Havenfall and the Inn. :)

The second book and possibly final in this series. The first was Havenfall. It continues with Maddie and Brekken trying to get peace between all the Realms. I didn't love it but glad to have read it. The ending seems, to me anyway, open for a continuation of the story.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one. I don't think enough time is spent developing the relationships so it feels forced. I also found the main character to be selfish and problem causing which I struggled to get behind. #pantone2022

One thing I like about Sara Holland is that she gets straight to the point. None of that chapter upon chapter of background noise. She packs such a punch in relativity short books.

This one ended the duology started in Havenfall. Right away we're in the middle of the action and although there are some breathers the action always picks back up right away. I love the idea of doorways to other realms being hidden in an old inn in Colorado.

I was disappointed by this 2nd in a duology. This world is a lot of fun & I would really like to have more from it. The action was great & the book moved along pretty well. Heavily plot driven, so I recommend reading immediately after the first novel. The ending is problematic. It is vague, wandering, & leaves several things unresolved. The way it ends demands a third book, otherwise it just becomes an okay duology instead of an amazing trilogy.

Maddie's appeal to me has always been how very ordinary she is. That continues here, making it easy to relate to her as she faces hard choices. The conflicts, however, are pretty obvious fairly early in the story & the questions they bring up are never fully answered in a satisfying way. The pace is so quick that I was left wondering why these two books weren't just combined into one.
