pickOwen‘s latest, and the second featuring Jess Winslow, Mason Burke and Lucy. I love the characters.
The plot: someone has murdered Bad Brock Boyd, an ex-hockey star who went to jail for running a dog fighting ring. Mason, who belted him for wrestling with Lucy, has been accused of his murder. The story if the actual murderers is far more complicated.
I strongly recommend Laukkanen‘s books. Follow his real-life dog rescue efforts on Facebook.
