When Gemma's romantic holiday with her boyfriend is cancelled, the tearoom sleuth finds herself heading to Vienna instead, with her cat Muesli and the nosy Old Biddies for company. And it's not long before they stumble across a murder right in the heart of Austria's historic capital. A handsome art critic dies suspiciously at their hotel and the Old Biddies are determined to sniff out the killer. Is it the bitter hotel owner nursing a grudge? The critic's jealous mistress wanting revenge? Or even the visiting American who seems inexplicably nervous around the police? Soon Gemma is dragged into an impromptu investigation which has her tackling Vienna's famous pastries, snooping in police files and even braving a nude sauna in search of clues! But can she sort the suspects from the Schnitzel, and solve the mystery before the killer strikes again?

Perfect title for the book. Devlin, as usual, backs out of vacation plans; so, Gemma goes to Vienna for a visit and to collect an award. After a man is discovered dead @ the foot of the hotel balcony, Gemma begins to have suspicions. You‘re going to love the character Mei Mei. I hope we get to see her again.

This is a fun cozy series. This one takes the MC and her older friends to Austria, and it made me want to visit there someday!

Book 8 in the Oxford Tearoom cozy mystery series takes place in Vienna, Austria instead of the usual Oxford setting. Gemma's plans for a romantic vacation with her detective boyfriend Devlin get upset and she ends up going to Vienna with the snoopy 'Old Biddies'. A murderer takes place and the usual sleuthing ensues. I enjoyed this installment, but not as much as the mysteries set in Oxford. I will continue reading new books as they come out.

Traci1 I hadn't heard of this series. I love a good cozy, and one set in Oxford sound great. I'm going to have to look for book one. 😊 7y
