In my little reading challenge, I had to let go of ‘A Tale of Two Cities‘ as the hardest part of reading is starting the book, and as the start was quite slow I didn‘t get the flow. So, I moved to the next book on my list, ‘The Ghosts We Keep‘ and I finished it a hour ago. I am completely amazed by the style of writing and the accurate portrayal of grief. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Reyzl OMG! I love “A Tale of Two Cities” (and Dickens in general) and I was about to recommend it on Friday apropos the French Revolution. Give it a try, maybe later. 3y
Sharv_Sona @Reyzl I will be reading it right now! Halfway through, the realisation hit me that this book relates to our current unit, and so I was hoping to recommend this book on Friday. 3y
Reyzl It is a very moving story and so sad, as Dickens as it gets. I read it at a young age, and it made an impression on me. Even though it is not a history book, I learned about the background of the French Revolution through its characters. The story is about people and so it‘s history. (edited) 3y

I missed my brother more than anything I‘d ever missed before. And I knew that I was never going to stop missing him. But I had to learn to live alongside the pain, alongside this missing part of my life that I‘d never get back.

The summer after my brother was killed, my parents made me get a job at a frozen yogurt shop.

Liam has just lost their brother in a tragic accident, is struggling in school, and feels like they‘re losing touch with their best friends (who are dating one another) and feeling left out. The whole story is the process of grieving and looking back at the moments shared with their brother.
This story is the ugly side of grief, Liam is hard to like because their grief is raw and ugly and mean but it also is a very good depiction of it.

I did an entire reading vlog of this excellent book about grief, self-discovery, and life after loss. My channel is YouTube.com/KathyTrithardt and this video can be found at https://youtu.be/MGVPykQxR08 📚

Gissy Yes!! I was the one who said that I was going to participate in the Queer lit readathon but that I was a slow reader. So nice you are here in Litsy!!🤗 3y
kathytrithardt @Gissy yay! So nice to see QLR participants/fans here! I've actually been using Litsy for ages to track my reading, but didn't post often. 3y

Every week, I highlight #lgbtqauthors as part of #TheRainbowShelf🏳️‍🌈 Mason Deaver is an author and designer from North Carolina. Their work has been nominated for multiple awards, including the YALSA Best Fiction For Young Adults Award. This plant- loving video gamer crafts heartwarming characters and skillfully portrays internal struggles like anxiety. I look forward to their upcoming book, out in 2021. #lgbtq #nonbinary #ownvoices
