The 20th Victim
The 20th Victim | James Patterson, Maxine Paetro
8 posts | 14 read | 5 to read
Sergeant Lindsay Boxer tackles an ambitious case that spans San Francisco, L.A., and Chicago in this pulse-pounding thriller of "smart characters" and "shocking twists" (Lisa Gardner, #1 New York Times bestselling author). Three victims, three bullets, three cities. The shooters' aim is as fearsomely precise as their target selection. When Lindsay realizes that the fallen men and women excel in a lucrative, criminal activity, she leads the charge in the manhunt for the killers. As the casualty list expands, fear and fascination with this suspicious shooting gallery galvanizes the country. The victims were no angels, but are the shooters villains . . . or heroes?

Several murders occur between Chicago and LA-3 victims, 3 bullets, 3 cities; and all occur at 8:30 AM…what else do they have in common…?
Claire has a spot on her lung, Cindy is still annoying, Yuki lawyers up, and Lindsey/Joe are cruising right along. Up next: 23rd Midnight

It‘s been a while since I‘ve read a book from the Women‘s Murder Club series and I missed them so much. I love all of the characters and I always look forward to their cases and what‘s going on in their lives. As usual this one was a thrill ride and I enjoyed every page of it.

The only series I‘m still reading from Patterson, can‘t seem to give up on this one! Love the main characters and catching up with them.

I think it may be time for the WMC to consider retiring. While this one was better than 19, in that the club was more together (though we still don't see the connection from the earlier books), it's just lost some of the spark the series once had. I listened to this one on audio, and that only made me enjoy it less as the narration was sort of whiny throughout the book. If this was book one in the series, I'd never have picked up book 2.

gilroyc I wasn't 100% impressed with book 1. Attempting book 2 now and it isn't encouraging. 4y

Hold on tight when you open this book. The 20th victim is a breathless rollercoaster of a ride. As the number of bodies pile up, the multiple story lines evolve faster and faster. You won‘t be able to stop reading this dizzying carousel of a plot. 5⭐️ https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/the-20th-victim
