This is dark & disturbing, especially the parts from the villain's POV. He is messed up! But calling him a villain isn't quite right. Up until his last "project" is there anything illegal about what he does? Is it even wrong? It feels wrong but it's very grey & that ethical dilemma is the best thing about this book. It feels a little long & a little detached. It's hard to be in Anabel's head too as her reactions are so unusual. Soft pick.
