This is the 4th book in the historical fiction series about James Marwood and Cat Lovett. I just love this series, full of political intrigue, possible traitor, spies and much more. The writing is good and you learn a bit of history too!

This is one of my current reads, hope to finish tonight's. It is the fourth book in the series.
His father would not have approved of such a luxurious cloak for his granddaughter, nor of her taking such obvious pleasure in it.
The trouble with having Oliver Cromwell as your grandfather, or indeed as your father, was that you could never live up to such a yardstick. Even after his death, you were condemned always to fall short.

Another brilliant story and as usual Marwood is getting himself injured. Another dramatic and well built story. The plot is interesting and had me desperate to know what would happen next. The ending was very good too. It tied the story off well yet leaving me wanting more from James and Cat. I enjoy the world being created in this and the link to the history of the time. The writing is descriptive and allows the places to come alive #Netgalley 4*
