I really wanted to like this, but halfway through it‘s just annoying. Life‘s too short - onto the next book.

An interesting take on the high school mean girls trope. I was curious enough to keep going and got all the way through this as an audiobook. The characters were okay, but I like the messages of learning to be yourself and the cultural tie-ins. I would have liked more discussion on bullying and bystanders as that came up a lot and the MC did nothing, but 🤷♀️

This is my second 1-star review this week (in the first 3 days of the month!). Why? I usually bail on books that are so awful; but this week, I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they would redeem themselves. They didn't. It's time to trust my gut again.
BGG is a hot mess. It doesn't know what it wants to be, and it ends up being crappy at all the things.
[Trigger warning: rape.]
