“The armored cars of dreams contrived to let us do
so many a dangerous thing“

”Open the heavy book. Why couldn‘t we have seen this old Nativity while we were at it?
—the dark ajar, the rocks breaking with light,
an undisturbed, unbreathing flame,
colorless, sparkless, freely fed on straw,
and, lulled within, a family with pets,
—and looked and looked our infant sight away.”

It‘s rainy here this week, so this spoke to me. #poemsbeforepandemic
Thank you @Trashcanman for telling me about Elizabeth Bishop. She‘s complex enough I can‘t read her on my breaks at work but she makes the commutes to and fro more pleasant.
I really got into #poetry after taking a semester of contemporary poetry in college. I loved Elizabeth Bishop (one of my faves of hers above) and I also love W.B. Yeats, D.H. Lawrence, and Margaret Atwood. Check them out! #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages
3/5 of my favorite poem. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poems/detail/47536 if you don't want it truncated like a Southern person classified as a slave in the Census. #AugustPhotoChallenge
I forgot until I actually started looking that I do in fact own a peach book! If you haven't read Elizabeth Bishop's poetry, you should. I love it 💜 #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages
