Deliver by Moonlight: Historical Drama: Period 1920 - 1942: France: A search is on for the long lost illegitimate child of Eve, Madame of Le Chabanais; the most famous Bordello in 1920's Paris. But with the tragic death of her mentor gnawing at her sanity she moves south to begin a new less complicated life. However, in 1940, the Nazi invasion of France forces her into the murky, underground world of fearless freedom fighters looking for retribution against a background of British spy's overseeing the reluctant birth of the American OSS. The battle is on to win the hearts and minds of the French Resistance leaving Eve committed to a life of covert activity that will lead her to face a truth she never thought possible, and dedicated to the ultimate survival of a complete stranger. This intriguing historical drama following the life of one courageous woman and a defiantly brave young man, will take you back to a time, between world wars, of hedonistic Parisian pleasures and the following much darker days of invasion and despair. ************ When the noble born father of an illegitimate boy child takes his own life, Eve Charbonneau, a young French girl of good education and privileged upbringing, turns from her family, distraught and in psychological shock. The infant child is cruelly snatched away from her at birth by a socially ambitious father and a stoically loyal but emotionally detached mother. Eve, reluctant but resolute, leaves family and friends and heads for the dangerously decedent and hedonistic lifestyle of 1920's Paris. There she meets Madame Kelly, the owner of Le Chabanais, the most famous, royally sponsored bordello in Europe. Eve, who has now become Eve Charron, also becomes Madame Kelly's protegee, managing her business until her tragic death from alcoholism and tuberculosis in the mid 1930's. Suffering with a broken heart at the death of her dearest friend and a tortured soul as a result of the many fruitless searches for her long lost son, Eve retreats to the small town of Poitiers. When the Germans invade in 1940, she becomes a radio operator for the regional resistance group commanded by Olivier Leon, joined with the more extensive and well organised parties known as the 'Maquisards'. Unknown to Eve, the son she has never seen, never touched or held close has been named Gaston Voclain and educated by a dedicated religious order at Cimiez, a Monastery near Nice. When the invasion of France becomes inevitable, Gaston escapes to the United States of America and due to his exceptional language skills, the young Frenchman is quickly spotted by US Colonel Thompson, who is to form a secret code breaking unit. This is the first step to Gaston being enrolled in the newly formed 'Office of Strategic Services', the OSS and forerunner of the CIA. He is to be known to others only by his agent code name 'Pierre' and, with the help of the British SOE, makes several 'insertions' inside German occupied northern France. What will eventually bring Eve and agent 'Pierre' together? Will it be fate or the vile and cunning machinations of the regional Gestapo chief, Herr Steiger? Will experimental tortuous techniques practised by the despicable Nazi force Pierre to give away secrets affecting the planned Normandy invasion by the allies? What sacrifices will have to be made, and more importantly, who will make them to ensure the biggest secrets of the war in France are kept safe?"
