Okay ya‘LL. I don‘t know the last time I sat and read a book cover to cover in one day that wasn‘t a GN or short Mg.

But this, I picked it up and couldn‘t stop!!!! Full review later but it was an excellent ya romance that even hardcore adult romance readers will love. Plus do you know how many reading challenges prompts this kicks off!? Lots #ownvoices #muslimvoices.

1) The writing was EXCELLENT. 2) That humor!
3) The way anti-colonization themes were woven into the narrative was SO BEAUTIFUL. 4) themes of female agency that were *chefs kiss* 5) the author was very clear about not making the “other girl” a villainess. 6) The friendships were as wrenchingly beautiful as the romance. I‘ve a small quibble with the plot set up, but over all, this is a powerful, beautiful, & sweet coming-of-age romcom. ★★★★★.

Danyal wants to be a chef but he dad doesn‘t approve. A lot of people don‘t take him serious because they think he is just another pretty face. No one thinks he is a great arranged marriage prospect either. So when his parents set him up to meet Bisma he goes but doesn‘t think anything will happen between them. But when she agrees to help him with a school competition he gets to know her better and starts to fall for her. Loved the ending!
