This is a novela lenght follow-up to Summer of 69. As soon as the book started, I was transported right back to the story of the Foley-Levin clan. This story starts with the sad news of the death of Exalta, the family matriarch. As the children and grandchildren gather around for their final goods, there will be a few surprises and a few hellos. I absolutely loved catching up with this family, seeing where they were 10 years (cont in comments)...

TheHeartlandBookFairy later, and getting some closure on this story! I just wish it had been longer 😁 14mo

This was a little meh. I was hoping for a deeper peek into where everyone was now but it was mostly recap, very surface, and not much going on-even for a novella. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

I REALLY loved Summer of ‘69 so was VERY excited when this follow up was recently re-released on Audible. It‘s a short novella/ epilogue but lacked the heart of the original. Maybe a year later my enthusiasm has waned because this was just dull. It was under $5 so not too terrible, but I wouldn‘t really recommend. However, I‘d still read summer of ‘89 😉😆😜

Megabooks It was fun, but I‘m glad I read it for free! 😉 I do love Erin Bennett‘s narration of her books, though. Great author/narrator pair! 3y
Megabooks I fell asleep for an hour and popped awake and couldn‘t fall back asleep. I have pretty severe restless leg so that really hinders my sleep a lot. I find I kick less when I sleep during the day. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good thing I sleep alone!! 😂 3y
Cinfhen I was wondering why you‘re awake @Megabooks !!! 3y
Cinfhen Yes, I always feel like the narration is authentic with the characters @Megabooks (edited) 3y

It was nice to have an update on the Nichols-Foley-Levin-Whalen family in this short novella that takes place 10 years after the novel Summer of 69. There are no real surprises with how the kids turned out, but it was still a cute novella. Exactly worth the $1.99 I paid for it.

Note: this was a limited release in February and is no longer available on Kindle or Kobo. The only source I could find is linked here http://bit.ly/SummerOf79EH

Megabooks @Cinfhen the link on my Summer of 69 review only gave me the first chapter. The above link allows you to read online for $1.99. 👍🏻😘 4y

Eh. It was nice to revisit the characters but this didn‘t draw me in nearly as much as Summer of ‘69.
