Bailedbailed

There‘s plenty I enjoyed with this one but the annoyances I felt just made it difficult to muddle through. I loved the narrator and the many, unique voices they assigned to each character (but the childish voice they used for the MC took a long time to get used to). The issue I had was the repetitive nature of the story: the characters said something in dialogue, then the narrator repeated it. I kept thinking “THIS is why the book is so long!”

jen_the_scribe I was disappointed that I spent so much time listening to this one, only to bail more than halfway through. But I just cant sit through 12+ more hours. It did intrigue me to the genre, which I‘ve never read/listened to before (LitRPG). But I think I‘m done with this particular series. 5mo

1. Just the usual routine, hopefully something fun with the family this weekend.
2. As it lands on a Wednesday, not really. I got my husband and kids some goodies though, so I‘m excited to hand them over.
3. I‘d be an innkeeper from the tagged book.

1. Same old - plenty of exercise, studying for a certification, a couple of appointments, working on my creative projects, spending time with the fam, etc.
2. I do my monthly and weekly planning in my journal, and then we have a communal family calendar in the kitchen.
3. I‘d be inside a video game, specifically residing in The Wandering Inn (tagged)

Pickpick

1st read of August. I‘m not sure how to review it. This is a free web serial. It has a very large following.

Erin is running from goblins. She hides in an abandoned inn & becomes an innkeeper. She meets the neighborhood watch who are interesting species.

This is a biweekly web series so you can feel the stream of consciousness, compelling but could have used an editor.

The audiobook is wonderful and comforting. It‘s oddly addictive.

The Wandering Inn is a phenomenon I was really curious about. It is both intriguing and scary because of it's length. If you want to know more about it before you start reading, check out our discussion about it on episode 45 of the Mind Duck Books podcast: https://bit.ly/45YaZA3

🍂 I am SO ready for Fall! No more hot and humid weather, and especially no more hurricanes! Bring on the flannel, pumpkin chai, and riding boots!

📚 I am currently reading Sanctum and am listening to The Wandering Inn. I'm loving both, so no obligation to finish. The Wandering Inn is going to take a while; it's 43 HOURS long!

@TheSpineView and @Librarybelle I'm inviting you to answer if you'd like 😀
