I‘m slowly making my way through Swedish on the Duolingo app. I‘m still in the beginner levels. If this is something that a beginner needs to know for traveling in Sweden, then I totally understand why so many Swedish novels are so dark and murder-y.

I never went beyond Spanish 2 and all I really remember is how to ask where my beer is. Or my head. Or the bathroom. I really must try duolingo. I‘ve always wanted to give another language a shot! 4y

Amiable @CocoReads I probably will never be proficient in Swedish, but at least I‘ll know how to tell the police when there‘s a man with a knife behind the curtain! 😀 But at least Duolingo is free, so there‘s that. 4y

Amiable @mhillis LOL!! That‘s funny! Earlier in the app I got the sentence, “whose reindeer is that?” Apparently in Sweden people have a problem with keeping track of their reindeer. 😄 (edited) 4y

tenar This is too funny! I‘ve been doing French for a few months, and my favorite thing I‘ve learned is still from the opening lessons: ‘Are you a horse?‘ I‘m definitely saving that line for the right moment. Good luck with your Swedish! 4y
