Credence is a dark romance where taboo relationships are explored. There are a lot of outrageous things that will not sit well with many readers. I like taboo relationship story lines, but this one I just did not connect with the four main characters, and I did not like the outcome of the story. 2.5 stars at best.

This book was intense. I felt for Tiernan and thought the author did a good job with her character. With her abandonment issues, I could see when she was so drawn to the Van der Berg men. I also liked the plot. 4⭐️
Lots of triggers so if you are sensitive to these things I suggest you skip this one.

I hated everything.

Every character was awful. It was badly written. There were multiple grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. It was WAY too long. And let's not forget it's about a teenage girl boning her uncle and cousins. It's a massive NO from me.

I don't even know what to say 😂 You know a book is bad when the editor can't even be bothered to read something thoroughly enough to stop countless spelling and grammar mistakes. Are the sex scenes good? Yes if you can delete from your mind that it's about an Orphan sleeping with her step uncle and her two grown up step cousins, whilst also playing happy families (which I couldn't). I need to stop taking book recs from Tik Tok 😂

Wow, lots of taboo things happen in this book but it is captivating. It was wonderfully written. The ending left me smiling but wanting the book not to end.

I‘m conflicted. I devoured this book, but that feels *wrong*. The MC and Jake drove me crazy most of the time, but I fell in love with Kaleb right away, and my heart ached for Noah.
If you aren‘t into spice and some taboo stuff this isn‘t the book for you. But if you like some good spice and don‘t have triggers I think it‘s a good, fast read.

My first Penelope Douglas book was a half success. I really enjoyed the setting of the story and I liked the simple plot that was definitely more spice based. I did find the MC super annoying and I didn't overly enjoy the interactions between the characters. Kaleb was my favourite love interest. I liked the ending and how it wrapped things up.
For my first PD book I'm looking forward to reading another book I bought by her caller Bully.

Dang it! She made me cry! This book is so much more then what other reviewers are saying. There is so much character growth and development and the plot is all about facing past trauma and finding hope and a reason to live. Yeah deep stuff mixed in with romance, a lot of heat and steam. Off to find some more titles by this author.

This book is really bananas. The family relationship isn‘t as icky as it sounds as they are related by marriage not blood and don‘t have any family history or lasting ties. It‘s still dub con in places. Definitely not a book for everyone. It‘s a bit reverse harem except she ultimately chooses. I wasn‘t totally satisfied with the ending but there was a decent grovel. #romantsy #kindleunlimited 🍌🍌🍌🍌

Honestly went into this book looking for basically porn with a plot, but the characters were (vaguely) related? Also, I got 30% through, and no sex scenes, so I just stopped. It‘s a no for me!

This book was really disturbing. There were a lot of taboo things in the plot. The yech stuff doesn't last the whole plot, but it just gets shoved under the rug and the family moves on like it never happened. Which is just weird. And unrealistic. And completely dysfunctional. It feels like this book is romanticizing a brutal reality that is still happening in parts of the world.

Honestly, I don‘t even know how to rate this. It was recommended to me as a love story of a girl who overcomes the neglect of her parents with the support of her uncle and two cousins. If you read this book before, you know that‘s utter BS. I love romances and I don‘t mind a lot of spice in my books, but this story is all kinds of F‘ed up. I spent a good amount of time accessing and diagnosing the characters. Good writing though. Let‘s go w/ 3⭐️

This will not be a book for everyone as contains multiple controversial subjects. Coming of age, age gap, 'related' lovers, mental health issues etc.

I‘m honestly not sure how I feel about this book. It‘s very taboo, amazingly written, hot as hell in parts. But it‘s cringey and uncomfortable too - dubious consent, ignoring of mental health issues, misogyny all over the place and a terrible “hero” that really doesn‘t do anything to redeem himself....but I still couldn‘t stop reading. I will definitely need a break with some lighter books after reading this one.

Full disclosure: this book falls firmly in the "erotica" category and Penelope Douglas' books almost always dip into taboo waters. And while that in and of itself isn't a bad thing (I've actually enjoyed most of her other stuff), this particular book was just *too* taboo, problematic, and cringey for me. Just awful. Why I didn't bail is completely beyond me. At least it was free with #kindleunlimited ??‍♀️

It was a romance contemporary, smutty 😮🙎🏾‍♀️, I gave it 4 star, it did have some elementar that can be problematic for some people.

Penelope Douglas does it once again with an amazing book. 😍

I ❤LOVE❤ Pen Douglas, she is a fantastic author. This book is very controversial, you will either love it or hate it. Her books are addicting, once I immerse myself into the world she has created I can not put her books down. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read for me
