pickA sequel, or maybe (at times) more of a prequel to The Salt Path. Written in four segments, it‘s really almost four short stories that are all interconnected. If you loved Winn‘s first book and want to know more, this book has a little bit of everything - more backstory, rewilding a farm, and a hike in Iceland. I finished it, but I agree with the Guardian review, “the narrative often lacks a compass.”
so-soI wrongly assumed this would be a similar account of a different journey but it's actually a combination of her youth and how life went for a few years post Salt Path. The only physical journey comes towards the end.
Whilst I truly like her descriptive prose, I wasn't as drawn to this one. But that's a personal opinion, no reflection on the book!
So I'd just finished reading my previous book, standing at my pile, deciding which to.pick... and my inbox pinged to tell me this long anticipated book had downloaded from my amazing library app 😍☺☺☺.

pickRaynor always writes with such honesty abs beauty. This is the continued story of Raynor and Moth after time on The Salt Path. You feel her fear, hope and new found expectance.
I read The Salt Path earlier this year and loved it. Now comes the next book and we find out how Ray and Moth are doing. The covers are just fab! #nonfiction
