“So Lex came home, the books came back, the land was filled with laughter, the fairy found a job, and all read happily ever after. “

Reading Beauty can be connected to a class lesson by having students create a “Book Recovery“ project. After reading the story, students can write or draw about their favorite book and imagine a scenario where it goes missing. They can then describe how they would go about finding it and what makes their book special. This activity can spark discussions about the importance of books and the joy of reading.

I like this book because it didn't remind me of a story I've read before. This book is a bit on the longer side, so keep that in mind when picking who will be reading it.

Since the temperature is in the 70s, I decided to take my library books outside and read in the hammock. 😎

I am 100% in love with this book and want my own copy! Lex is a Black princess who loves to read. But she has been cursed to get a papercut that will put her in a deep sleep to await true love's kiss. But Lex is strong and smart and is going to break the curse all by herself with her trusty books and her loving dog Prince. Love this story, love the artwork. Love it all!

megnews I loved this one! 4y

“Once upon a planetoid,
Surrounded by book lovers,
A princess, Lex, read morning, noon,
And night (beneath her covers).”

How do I get there? Doesn‘t that look like paradise? My idea of heaven includes lots of books so I don‘t have to fret about my unfinished tbr!!

Just started this one recommended by @RachelO and already loving it.

rockpools Glad you enjoyed it! Doesn‘t her reading spot (and book trolley) look perfect? 4y
megnews @RachelO yes! I need one of those book trolleys 4y

Disaster! 👆

A futuristic retelling of sleeping beauty, in verse, for older picture-book lovers. It‘s very funny and EXCEEDINGLY Litsy! Plus there‘s a cute dog that saves the day. If your library has a copy, go read it.

I‘m following @megnews ‘s lead here and adding this as a bonus #bbrc #A2Z because it‘s fab and made me laugh at the end of a distinctly grumpy day.

Sarahreadstoomuch Love the “bonus” books!!! 4y

Princess Lex lives on a planetoid of book lovers & reads all day & night! She even trained her dog, Prince, to bring her books. A fun twist on Sleeping Beauty that all Littens will enjoy. 😀 #charactersreading
