Think Salem witch trials meets The Stepford Wives. It didn‘t resonate with me, and I didn‘t stick with it long enough to figure out how it all tied together. #scarathlon #skeletoncrew @Emilymdxn

I enjoyed the witches through history storyline that made up the first part of the book. Then it became some really powerful witches meet The Stepford Wives and was just an ok story. It was definitely rushed but I think some of that‘s because the comic line ended (or something like that). I‘d like to see where the go with it do maybe someday it‘ll be picked back up.
This was so cool for maybe 3 pages. Then the bad ass blood magic based witches turned into brain washed 50‘s housewives (story set in 2008) “married” to the group of male witch hunters sworn to destroy them. It was boring, disappointing and frustrating. I kept waiting for the vengeance promised in the blurb and when it came...it really wasn‘t vengeance. I‘d say more of a tantrum really. The ending was confusing and the characters were flat 👇🏻
Do you want to burn down the patriarchy? Did you ever watch Stepford Wives and think "this is good, but it could use more blood and magic?" Yep, me too. And apparently Ben Blacker as well. All 6 volumes of the acclaimed satirical miniseries are collected in this one volume. Fun read but I do wish there had been more character development. #WinterGames #SlayBells #TBRRead 15 pts @MidnightBookGirl @StayCurious @Clwojick
