Lots and Lots of Zebra Stripes is an engaging NF picture book written and photographed by Stephen R. Swinburne. I think this book would be used very well as a RA in a class grades K-2, and you can incorporate it easily into science lessons! I love this book because of the beautiful photography in it.

katiehamlin The EL strategy I would use with this book is 39, have students prepare collections of science objects. You could have students bring in objects they have found in nature that have patterns on them, or they could go home and take photos of things in nature that have patterns on them and bring those photos in. It‘s a good way to get students hands-on involved with the topic of the book! 5y

katiehamlin The UDL principle I would use is 1.1, offer ways of customizing the display of information. This is good for this book because you can use the activity I previously mentioned (students bringing in objects and photos of patterns they have seen in nature). These are ways students can choose how this information is represented and displayed through the objects and photos they bring in. 5y
