Summer and Bird called to me from the shelf... after Roses and Rot, it seemed like another sister story was in order. Plus, it fit nicely for #LitsyAtoZ letter S. 😊 I loved the fairy-tale feel, the sister dynamics were so well-done, and the villain was truly creepy—manipulative, insidious, and believable. Another pick!
Sometimes there is a seed in your heart. It might feel like a stone, or like a bud ready to blossom. It might feel like a hard, burning ember. No seed is the same. But if you let that seed, that feeling-sound, take root, then it will grow. Sometimes it grows quickly, or sometimes very slowly, especially if you don‘t tend it. It could take months or even years to grow... But when you do finally speak it, the birds call that a heart-song.
I‘m finally somewhere where there‘s some sweater weather... and I seem to have inadvertently dressed to match my book.
pickPossibly the last "fun" book I'll be reading for a while :/ so far I'm loving the whimsy atmospheric setting; it pairs well with the omniscient narrator. And this cover is just magical!
