This is nowhere near the excellence of the author‘s Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and worlds away from the beauty that is Strange the Dreamer duology. But, these three short stories still show Taylor‘s unique style. The first story is my fave, since Goblin Market is my second favorite poem ever written, and this is a loving homage to Rossetti. The illustrations in the book are beautiful. If I wasn‘t already a fan I might be more meh 🤷🏼‍♀️

⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book has been on my shelf forever and I finally got around to reading it. I didn‘t really enjoy this book. The prose was... just too much. Although I appreciate Laini unique mythos I just couldn‘t really get into these stories. You can see the making of Daughter of Smoke & Bone coming together in these stories which was cool but I‘m definitely donating this one to the free library.

Today‘s #colormepretty is #orangeandblack!

Fairest was Levana‘s tale from Marissa Meyer‘s Lunar Chronicles. It actually makes you feel bad for her, and then remember why you hated her in the first place.

Lips Touch: Three Times is a book of three short stories about first kisses. It‘s by Laini Taylor, and the stories are quick reads and really nice for a quiet sunny day.

This was ok, but it didn't really engage me, and it took me a longer time to finish than I had anticipated. I read this for the #unconventionalromance prompt for #Booked2018, and I'm hoping that a girl falling for a Goblin qualifies! 😁

@4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen

BarbaraTheBibliophage That sounds pretty #unconventional to me! My pick for this prompt was girl falling for a god, so I‘m on the same wavelength as you. 👏🏻👏🏻📚📚❤️❤️ 7y
GondorGirl I didn't know she did a short story collection... 😍 7y

I am just stunned by this collection of three short stories. This is a must-read for fantasy lovers. Goblins, demons, lost souls...how did she fit so much into just three small stories? And the writing is gorgeous. This is my first Laini Taylor but I will be reading everything she's ever written now (Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and Strange the Dreamer). 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

After Laini Taylor's talk just night, I finally dug this one out of my TBR. It's three novellas with illustrations by Jim Di Bartolo and was a National Book Award nominee.

I would marry Laini Taylor, if I could. Seldom do I pick up short story selections but since the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, it was never a question if I'm getting myself a copy of this or not. Taylor's such a master weaver of words and this collection doesn't disappoint. ⭐️❤️⭐️❤️⭐️😁

Laini Taylor's husband drew the illustrations...and they are AMAZING. I'm in awe of both the writing and the illustrations in this book!!

OSChamberlain Woah that's awesome illustration! 9y
youngish-adult @OSChamberlain I know!! There are three novellas in this book, and they are all prefaced by a short graphic novel (at least, that's what I would call it) that pertains to the story. REALLY COOL. 9y
OSChamberlain Gotta get on that one! 9y
