Anansi's Party Time | Eric A Kimmel

“On nights when the moon is full, you may look up and see shapes on the moon‘s surface” This quote explains the whole purpose of the book, which is that there can be shapes seen in the moon. These shapes are spider and crab trying to get back to earth.

This book would be a very good read for preschoolers and early elementary students. I loved the illustrations and see it being a very fun read out loud.

Fables
This fable is about a turtle and a spider who went back and forth tricking each other. This story is a very nice read and teaches students they're better of not tricking their friends. In this specific story, the crab and the spider end up on the moon after the turtle tricked them.

“Up through the air. Up through the sky until they came to the moon. The balloons went POP! Anansi and Crab floated down to the moon.“

I would use this book in my classroom because the moral of the story, about being inclusive to others, is an important concept for children to grasp. Not to mention, the book itself is rather cute and I enjoyed the illustrations. The book has a lot of ways to add expression.

Anansi's Party Time written by Eric. A Kimmel. I believe this story is an illustration that depicts a myth or tale that the spider and crab are stuck on the moon and that is why there are unique spots on the moon at night. The plot is simple and direct and uses repetition in phrases. The book is engaging with the use of language and illustrations.

I really enjoyed this book, but I really did not like Anansi. I‘m glad that turtle found a way to get back at him.

Anansi‘s Party Time by Eric A Kimmel is a piece of traditional literature. It was written in 2008. This book was super cute. It has repetition as well as a simple plot. The book kind of made me sad when Anansi was so rude to the turtle when the turtle was trying to come to the party. I like that the turtle was able to get back at Anansi but not in a way of being rude. The tale at the end is interesting about the shapes on the moon!

This book would be good for students to read. It would be a good lesson to not play tricks on each other. The ending of the story is always interesting and something the students would like.

Anansi‘s Party Time by Eric. A. Kimmel, 2008. While reading the story I was not sure where it was going. The turtle and Anansi kept playing tricks on each other. They had to keep going back home and getting more stuff to bring to the party. Then turtle had his party under water. I thought the ending was cool when the spider and crab got stuck on the moon and that‘s why you see shapes on the moon‘s surface.

This was fun book to read. There was a clear theme to the book. It was simple and direct for children to read. The illustrations were great and fun to look at, but didn't have much meaning behind them.
