Pickpick

As a person with bipolar II, I found this memoir to be highly relatable. I want my husband to read it so he understands me a bit better. There needs to be a trigger warning though for suicide attempt.

Inside the mind of Marya, during her swings from high to low, the experiences of seeking treatment, and at home. She begins by remembering incidents and feelings she had as a very young child, through young adulthood and even after she had written her book “Wasted”.

Megabooks You and I read so many of the same books. I read this years ago. It was hard for me. 4y
Chelsea.Poole @Megabooks I probably saw this on your feed and added it to my list. Love your picks! Memoirs have been my go-to lately 😊 4y

"And then the horror sets in. All that time I wasn‘t crazy; I was, in fact, crazy. It‘s hopeless. I‘m hopeless. Bipolar disorder. Manic depression. I‘m sick. It‘s true. It isn‘t going to go away. All my life, I‘ve thought that if I just worked hard enough, it would. I‘ve always thought that if I just pulled myself together, I‘d be a good person, a calm person, a person like everyone."
