I had a hard time focusing on this book. Didn‘t keep my interest

Remember, animals were here first so they know better than people how to live. Their wisdom is older. They‘re more at ease in a desert place, the Indians say.

The picture of the badger burrowing itself into the earth is fascinating.

Caldecott honor book. People and animals live where most people could not even imagine, and they love it.

Pickpick

The Desert Is Theirs was written by Byrd Baylor in 1975. This book has been very different from all the ones I have read. It definetly should be read by older kids or even an adult to kids. The illustration was very unique and intriguing, and probably my favorite part about the book!
