The cult classic that changed vampire fiction forever. When Davey Owen loses his girlfriend and his job, he seeks solace in the seedy darkness of Times Squares Live Girls. Inside its peep show booth, Davey finds a hypnotic fantasy, an irresistible ecstasy, an obsession. Soon, the beautiful dancer Anja offers him an insatiable demonic kiss, and with that Davey seals his fate as one of the eternal damned. Can Davey, along with newspaperman Walter Benedek, unravel the mystery of Live Girls before Davey loses his soul? Or are they being pulled, spiraling down toward something sinister and . . . oozing . . . in the clubs basement? With 1987s fan favorite Live Girls, author Ray Garton broke new ground in the world of horror novels. Visceral, erotic, unforgivingthe images in this book will haunt you. That is not a warning . . . it is a promise.

I've read Garton's Ravenous and Bestial, and really liked his take on the werewolf legends. I love the idea of vampires as sex workers, they can avoid scrutiny by working in the seedy underbelly of New York.

This story was fast paced and I enjoyed reading it. I liked the way the vampire's were portrayed. And also liked the supporting characters of Casey and Benedek. I had fun reading this and am going on to the next in the series.

Easily one of the best contemporary vampire novels. Interesting and compelling concepts of the vampire mythos too.
