I usually love historical fiction, particularly stories centred around WW2. I can see what the author was trying to achieve and it had the premise of an interesting novel. However, the story felt disjointed and often boring. I had no real pull or interest in the characters.

This book was a great read, such an insight, I struggled when it jumped back in time without indication but nevertheless I enjoyed it and would recommend.

In Germany during WWII, Hitler was afraid someone would try to poison his food to kill him. So, a group of 10 women are ‘recruited‘ to be food tasters. They eat the same meals as Hitler, only one hour before, they are watched to see if any thing untoward happens…..

This is the tale of those women, based on the memories of a woman that was actually there, was one of these tasters. It is their stories, of their lives, families

Good. Even though at times the writing was a bit disjointed and confusing at times it was still a good story based on real people. Thank you #HarperCollinsPublishers for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

This is based off a true story and it's such a powerful read. I've read a few stories about the war but never one like this. The story draws you in and keeps you hooked. There were a couple of times when I got confused as Rosa thought about times from the past. The ending was sad and touching, it finished the story well. This is well written and definitely worth a read. 4* #Netgalley
