Another great book in the series. I know this is only the second book but I‘m really enjoying the series so far. This one was a bit gory, with a psychopath killing people in a most horrifying way. Getting in the way of investigations is a pompous twat who‘s dating DI Turner and getting in the way of her friendship with DI Callanach. Once again, it‘s a race against time to save lives. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

“In the middle of a rock festival, a charity worker is sliced across the stomach. He dies minutes later. In a crowd of thousands, no one saw his attacker. The following week, the body of a primary school teacher is found in a dumpster in an Edinburgh alley, strangled with her own woollen scarf. D.I. Ava Turner and D.I. Luc Callanach have no leads and no motive – until around the city, graffitied on buildings, words appear describing each victim.”

The story was good, but the book was annoying and frustrating a lot of the time, mostly due to Ava. Her character ruined the entire reading experience for me and now I'm not sure if I'll continue the series

“Perfect Prey” is another great D.I. Callanach book by Helen Fields. The murders were gruesome and the story was gripping both of which made for a really great crime story! A 4 star read for me!

Three pages in and I was hooked. I believe this is the second in a series! Always good news when a book has brilliantly crafted characters, as this one does. Brought two books with me. The other I will donate to the lending library but this one needs to go home with me!

I loved the second in this series even more than the first. Totally hooked! The characters are well developed and while there was one storyline I wasn‘t a fan of in this one, overall I was a big fan of this book and can‘t wait to read the next in the series! Really recommend for fans of thriller/police procedural books!
