So I went to my little library book sale they are selling books for donation. I started with these. I really dont know what I'm doing for children's, middle grade, teen or YA. But I'll read these and guess where to put! I think they're all children's ones 🤨

LibrarianRyan SSome of those are pretty good. As always, get stuck on a prompt and need a rec, just ask. 😁 5y
Crazeedi @LibrarianRyan just one question, picture books, how much writing or how little? See how dumb I am? My children are 40s! I really didnt categorize the books I read to them!! 5y
LibrarianRyan @Crazeedi a picture book is a picture book. They will have varying numbers of word. The illustrations help push the story. Some will have no words even. If the book is entirely heavy card board it‘s a board book. Most are small but lately large ones are popular. They normally have fewer words or simpler stories. When in doubt ask your librarian. And you are not dumb, just inexperienced. Picture books have changed so much it can be hard. 5y
Crazeedi @LibrarianRyan thank you I will ask if not sure! 5y

Cornelius is a great traditional literature book. The story follows a crocodile who is different from the other crocodiles. Cornelius sets off on a mission to find someone who appreciates his uniqueness, but Cornelius ends up back home to a sweet surprise. Here are so fun classroom activities https://thoughtfulliteracy.com/Cornelius%20Packet%2012-1-2010.doc

(Searched for "Cornelius" but I never found it)

DrSpalding Great quality site. It says, "The lesson plans and accompanying activities that we provide for each of the stories on the site can be regarded as a kind of tool for classroom management as well as a means of promoting thoughtful response to text." 8y
