I am not finding many lists for books set in the Civil Rights era. The tagged book is the only one I could think of that hadn't already been mentioned. Set in Alabama, primarily in 1963/64 and told in multiple viewpoints, I found it deeply affecting when I read it a long time ago.

However, it might be problematic that this story has been written by a (presumably) white woman.

Beautiful and overlooked novel about the Civil Rights movement in Birmingham.
I wish I was eloquent enough to put in words what MLK day means to me. And what it means to be celebrating his life today, when on Friday a man who threatens everything Dr. King fought for will become our president.
Its going to be a hard week for me and many Americans. And a long four years.
