⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I liked this book and I been in the mood for poetry books.
This is a soft pick for me. I liked the first half of the book way more than the last. Still powerful words. #poetrymatters
“she never needed anyone else‘s help to have the fairy tale she always wanted. at long last, she‘s realized one of the greatest truths a person can learn during the course of a life: SHE IS HER OWN GODDAMN FAIRY TALE”
I read this Sept 8 and gave it 4 ⭐️. I liked the first part the most. It was a relatable book of poetry for people who have dealt with being shamed for their looks and toxic relationships. Lovelace captures a feeling and then tells you how it‘s wrong. And how you need to love yourself and believe in your power. This is through the framework of fairy tales, specifically Cinderella.
Own the gorgeous glass slippers for yourself, not for a prince to find you ❤️
Awesome book of empowering feminist poetry. I especially love all the body positivity themed ones in this, as well as the ones about achieving one‘s goals and having your voice heard. I forgot how much I love Amanda Lovelace, and need to get more of her anthologies.
I will never get tired of Amanda's poetry 💜 I love it so much.
Really enjoyed this collection of poetry about finding your self-worth. You are your own prince and fairy godmother. I love Amanda‘s fairy tale retelling poetry. I agree with many others reviews that this book has the same feel as the princess saves herself in this one. #poetry
You needn‘t try to race the clock to find your soulmate. trust me. they aren‘t going anywhere. when - or if - you‘re ready to meet them, they‘ll be waiting personally. #poetry
you are limitless. you can have the lipstick. you can have the sword. #poetry
I love Amanda Lovelace poetry, this is up there with the princess saves herself in this one for favorite. It‘s kind of a Cinderella inspired telling of a girl who learns her self worth and how to love herself no matter what or who decides to stay. It‘s up lifting, it‘s a very quick read as is all her poetry books, and it‘s for gorgeous illustrations. I really recommend it!
Book mail!! If I would have known mine (and every other) library would be closed, I would have preordered some others too! 😜
This just didn‘t capture the same magic that some of her other collections have had. Plus it was way too short! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
