Young Kore is the daughter of the Goddess Demeter and Zeus, King of the Olympian Gods. She‘s a typical outdoorsy girl. Then Hades, God of The Underworld, spies her and falls madly in love. This debut novel from an academic features first-person narratives from 20 (!!) characters. A valiant effort, it also a very frustrating book.

2.5 stars—between a pan and a so-so.

BarbaraTheBibliophage @AceOnRoam The mythology part isn‘t all that complex. It‘s kind of an age-old story, translated into the realm of Gods and humans. Either way, I find it hard to review my friends‘ work. 7y
