I thought this was an adventurous, fun comic. I picked it up randomly, and was thoroughly entertained. There were a few examples of excellent panel breaking in here too, which I adore and wish there was more use of it in this volume. #comic

A cute graphic novel about a feather-covered boy and the city he fears will not accept him. Or will it??
It‘s too hot to be outside so I am working my way through some of my graphic novel tbr. This one was sort of ya and really fun. Cool art. Cool world building. Just a little bit of magic.
This is a fun, all ages graphic novel about friendship against the odds—Corona talks about it being based on a writing exercise centered on Beauty & the Beast & on balance, it‘s a good story sure to be a hit with young readers. If the writing is a little unpolished, the art, which is delightful, makes up for it. A particular highlight for comic readers & creators is Corona‘s explanations about character design, writing a comic & more in the back.
A little quiet reading this morning while the family sleeps in—they‘re using every last minute of the last weekend of Spring Break! Corona is the artist for Middlewest & having fallen in love with his art, I decided to go looking for more. The tagged book is his graphic novel debut. In the forward, Corona explains it started as a personal writing exercise based on a Beauty & the Beast type narrative—in this case, friendship against the odds.
2/2 Beta Males, a Comic about Relationships...and Dogs was written and drawn by @Schlinkles 's husband, a student at Savannah College of Art and Design. http://comicsandlithium.com/portfolio/beta-males/ Incidentally I've walked by this college with a group of my high school students. See comment to see how my dog fits in! #geekygraphicnovelswap
1/2 @Schlinkles packed perfect things in her #geekygraphicnovelswap box. A memoir because I like memoirs: Lighter than My Shadow. Feathers is done by a student from the Savannah College of Art and Design. The bright yellow inside the Wonder Woman mug will be so cheerful in dark winter mornings. Comic notebook has word balloons! See part 2 to see how and why my dog fits in the picture. Squeeeal!
Feathers, by Jorge Corona. Poe lives inside the Maze, hidden from everyone. Bianca lives in the City beyond the Wall, a child of privilege. When their lives unexpectedly collide, adventure and danger await. I really enjoyed this. It's a great middle grade title, sure to appeal to readers of fantasy and adventure stories who aren't into super heroes. The art is gorgeous, and I'd love to see more set in this world.
