Decided to focus on my 2022 #Roll100 list over the past week, and I‘m slowly getting through them. I‘m currently at 41/100, and hoping I can make it to 50 by the end of the year. There‘s a few stacks I need to reassess, and I‘m feeling a little ruthless so maybe I can tear through them and unshelf some. Trying to start off the new year right! 🤞🏻

PuddleJumper That's amazing! I am sure you can get to 50! 2y

The second half of this duology was a quick read that I definitely found more satisfying than the first. The young people showed a lot more rebellion & self determination in this one, & it ended on a positive note. This series made me think about Atwood‘s quote that she never included anything in her books that hadn‘t happened to somebody somewhere. This was all presented in a fantastical way that seemed kinda over the top, but the messages ⬇️

IndoorDame about the surrogacy industry & how exploitive it is to young women, especially in poorer countries can‘t be ignored. #PopSugar2022ADuology #Booked2022NewIn2022 3y

Bumped and it‘s sequel Thumped are the lesser-known dystopian duology from Megan McCafferty (The Jessica Darling series). In this story, a virus had made everyone over 18 infertile, so adults hire teen girls to get pregnant and carry their adoptive children. There‘s a lot here to unpack about reproductive rights, teenage independence & identity, and social media. I read these a few years ago, but they‘ve definitely stuck with me.

After reading bumped I needed to know what happened next! This one was just as fun and fast paced and kooky as the first one, I loved the writing style it was great .. If you'd like to read my full review please check out my blog! Link in my bio!
