NAMELESS tells the story of a down-at-heel occult hustler known only as "Nameless" who is recruited by a consortium of billionaire futurists as part of a desperate mission to save the world. A massive asteroid named Xibalba - the "Place of Fear" in Mayan mythology - is on collision course with the planet Earth and if that wasn't trouble enough, the asteroid has an enormous magical symbol carved into its side and is revealed to be a fragment of our solar system's lost fifth planet, Marduk, destroyed 65 million years ago at the end of an epic cosmic war between the inhabitants of Marduk and immensely-powerful, life-hating, extra-dimensional "gods." One of those beings is still alive, imprisoned on Xibalba, dreaming of its ultimate revenge on all that exists. When Nameless and his team-mates inadvertently unleash this malignant soul-destroying intelligence, the stage is set for a nightmarish, nihilistic journey to the outer reaches of human terror.

101/150 Reading this is it's own form a mental torture. The story makes absolutely no sense, as it shifts from reality to dreams, from possible futures to forgotten pasts. It's like an H.P. Lovecraft story of cosmic horror, but with more gore, body horror and profanity. 2 ⭐⭐

An attempt at an original horror/sci-fi mashup, but I found it so similar to the movie Event Horizon that it didn't seem all that original of an idea. Probably still worth a read anyway; the artwork was spectacularly bloody. The panels do jump around a lot scene wise, but once you figure out that you're just inside the character's mind it makes sense.

Crazy astronauts infected with crazy disease that causes them to kill each other. An alien steroid is heading toward earth. Omg I loved the art and was mesmerized by the story, but it's not my bag. Lol. Might be yours though...

Gave it a shot because of the Lovecraftian vibe I was getting from the blurb and cover art, but it leaned a bit too heavily on an Inception-style, "Is this a dream? Or reality?" for my taste, plus none of the characters was interesting enough to get me really invested. Also I thought the artwork got sloppy and overdone in later chapters, with a reliance on blood spatter and oozing liquids that I don't really appreciate very much.
