I don‘t typically read westerns, but I wanted to give them a shot. This book about a group of women going west was a great intro to the genre. The description of the hardships and all they did without made me wonder at all we have today. Interesting read.
I am the lone thumbs down on Litsy so far for this book. Once it moved into the pilgrimage west, I became irritated with several issues. It was choppy, I couldn't connect with the characters the way I wished to and I didn't understand why almost every man in the book was pure evil.
I really wanted to love this. More detail in my review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2925282932
Binge read this today! Comes out Jan 7th. Enjoyable tale about a wagon train of women headed to California in the 1850s.
My first Sandra Dallas book, and an easy 5⭐️ from me. Stories set in the era of the Westward Expansion are my favorite. A wagon trail with 44 women, one child, and two ministers go to California in order to find husbands among the gold miners. These women are strong and determined characters. I LOVED the settings, all points along the Overland Trail. I feel so connected to this story. So good!
Releases Jan 2020. Thanks to NetGalley & St Martin‘s!
I *cannot* resist a frontier book!!
Forty-four women, two male preachers, and one child leave Chicago in a wagon train and head west in order to find husbands in California.
I‘ve only read a chunk of this one so far, but it is SO GOOD. #currentlyreading #netgalley
This is an excellent read! 5 ⭐ on Goodreads!! I have been in a major mood to read a Pioneer story lately so I was so happy to receive this one via Netgalley! If you're a fan of historic fiction and strong women consider adding this one to your list!
