Before Christ called her daughter . . . Before she stole healing by touching the hem of his garment . . . Elianna is a young girl crushed by guilt. After her only brother is killed while in her care, Elianna tries to earn forgiveness by working for her fathers textile trade and caring for her family. When another tragedy places Elianna in sole charge of the business, her talent for design brings enormous success, but never the absolution she longs for. As her world unravels, she breaks off her betrothal to the only man she will ever love. Then illness strikes, isolating Elianna from everyone, stripping everything she has left. No physician can cure her. No end is in sight. Until she hears whispers of a man whose mere touch can heal. After so many years of suffering and disappointment, is it possible that one man could redeem the wounds of body . . . and soul?

I enjoyed the author's take on the passage from the Bible about the woman with the issue of blood. (See above) It's a heart-wrenching story of faith and redemption. Characters and plot are well developed. I would definitely recommend it.

Elianna looks forward to a promising future—until circumstance after tragic circumstance leaves her burdened with guilt, shame, and loneliness. Her life seems hopeless at times, but leads her beautifully to lessons of faith, forgiveness, and love.

With her talent for storytelling, Afshar provides depth and perspective to the story of a woman miraculously healed by Jesus. I really loved it.

Next up for #BookSpinBonanza: Priceless

I'm becoming an audiobook addict!

Crazeedi Me too! I've finally started to listen to books while I'm canning, cleaning, sometimes just sitting and it's just great. And with my vertigo it was so much easier listening this week!! 5y

#TBRtrmptation post! Elianna is a girl crushed by guilt after her only brother is killed while in her care. She goes to work in her father's textile business when more tragedy strikes. Her talent for design brings success, but her work unravels & she breaks off a betrothal to the only man she'll ever love. Then illness strikes & no one can cure her. Then she hears of a man, she touches his robe, & the rest is history. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Redjewel_7734 I love stories that give life & depth to women who are often so invisible in our history and mythologies. One of my favorites is The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. 8y

So far anything I read by Tessa Afshar is a must read! After reading this one, I wanted to order the rest of her books. I put her right up there with Francine Rivers.
