Giddy Up, Eunice
Giddy Up, Eunice: (Because Women Need Each Other) | Sophie Hudson
15 posts | 7 read | 8 to read
It’s easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us: differences in age, parenting styles, career goals, or maybe even core beliefs about whether leggings can adequately serve as pants (the struggle is real, y’all). The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it’s high time we step out of our same-age, same-stage silos. Life is so much better that way. Sophie Hudson, in the delightfully quirky Southern style her readers have come to know and love, sends out a rallying cry for women everywhere to open our eyes and see the people God has put in our lives—whether they’re behind us, beside us, or in front of us. It is such a gift to love one another, walk with one another, and soak up the blessings that flow across all generations. Saddle up, sister. This is going to be fun.

This one broke me out of a book slump. I found myself comfort-binging Sophie and Melanie‘s podcast (The Big Boo Podcast), and when I worked my way through all the archives, I decided I needed another book by one of them. I think this is the last one available as audio on my library apps, and I enjoyed it so much. Sophie is a laugh and a warm hug and I wish I knew her in real life.

I loved everything this book was about. I really was inspired and have looked at my personal relationships in a new light. However I did not like the way Sophia jumped everywhere, but I did like how she sounded like she was talking instead of writing. If that makes since. I also didnt like how sometimes she sounded sarcastic about the word of God. But I commend her for being accurate. It was too quirky for me though. bookclub hated it!

I love Sophie's stream-of-consciousness writing style. It works for her material. This is my favorite of her books, and I've liked them all. Feel-good and also challenging, she has a way of coming alongside you and getting you to think and even take action without ever making any of it seem like work. #giddyupeunice #bookreview

Fabulous book with a message all women need to hear and can relate to...how much we need each other! I loved Sophie Hudson's first two books and while this one is different, it did not disappoint. Thankful for this book and those women who are "my people".

MeganMarieWrites I think this one should be required reading for all women in the church, from nineteen to a hundred and nine...we need each other! 9y
Duffer @MeganMarieWrites - I totally agree!! I was lucky to get picked for the launch team for this book and just loved it and the community it created among the other "launchers". I have given away several copies because it is just so wonderful!!! 8y

This should be required reading for women in the church; from nineteen to a hundred and nine, women need each other...but so often I see the separation and it breaks my heart...
