This can be used to introduce discussions about Native American cultures, values, and the significance of storytelling in different traditions. Additionally, students can engage in creative projects, such as art or writing, inspired by the themes of sacrifice and nature in the story.

This story beautifully tells the story of a young Comanche girl who sacrifices her most prized possession to save her people. The lyrical prose and stunning illustrations capture the spirit of the Texas landscape and the significance of the bluebonnet flower. This touching tale explores themes of selflessness, tradition, and the connection to nature. It's a wonderful addition to any classroom, fostering discussions about culture and values.

The TL-PR story “The legend of the Bluebonnet” by Tomie DePaola is a great story that explains what happens when you are selfless and give back to what gives to you.. Not only is DePaola‘s book informative emotionally, but historically as well! Educating students about how they use to live in their tribe.

Spearsall continued: this story can help with EL‘s by using the strategy of direct instruction: modeling, explaining, scaffolding, name the strategy and show how to use it. The UDL principle used is: 2.2 “clarify syntax and structure”. 4y
DrSpalding I am thinking this is where you began after playing around a bit with the app! You have done a beautiful job of selecting excellent books and resources! Here, you need to look at the genre again. When you see the word legend… That tells you what genre you should be citing. Be sure to refer back to your flipbook for assistance. 4y

TL. GR. This book is a classic and should be included in every classroom library. It tells a tale of the bluebonnets in Texas and how they grow every year because of one little girl's sacrifice. UDL 6.3 Facilitate managing information and resources. ESOL 20. List the most important words and phrases you use or plans to use in a presentation on a transparency or on the chalkboard. #UCFLAE3414SP18

Kendallc Wow I like how it also would be good for kids learning about other states and the culture differences 7y
paulettevp I love how this book shows a girl‘s bravery. Great way to teach students that children have been brave and made significant contributions to history and society. I would definitely have them do the extension activity where they create their own paper bluebonnets. 7y

Jess7 What does all the letter coding mean that you have in your posts? 7y
ambera @Jess7 we had to use Litsy for an assignment in my children's literature class so I have the genre listed and how we would use it in a classroom. For example, F is modern fantasy, B would be biography, and P would be poetry. Some other ones are RT which is readers theater, RA is read aloud, and IR is independent reading 😊 7y
