When Dogs Cry
When Dogs Cry | Markus Zusak
5 posts | 11 read | 3 to read
'You're a bit of a lonely bastard, aren't you?' said Rube. 'Yeah,' I answered. 'I guess I am.' But Cameron Wolfe is hungry. He's sick of being the filthy, torn, half-smiling, half-scowling underdog. He's finally met a girl. He's got words in his spirit. And now he's out to prove that there's nothing more beautiful than an underdog who's willing to stand up. A tough, poetic street story by the internationally acclaimed author of The Book Thief.Join in the conversation about When Dogs Cry with #WolfeBooks

I picked up this book because it was by the author of The Book Thief. I'm not sure why I finished it as it seemed disjointed. I did feel some empathy for the character Cam, but I was never sure of the point of the story. After reading it, I realized it was the third book of a series in the Wolfe Brothers. Perhaps I'd have understood it better had I read the previous two books. Definitely don't recommend it as a standalone novel.

#QuotsyJuly19 Day 4: #Gone.
I am apprehensive to read a Zusak book after The Book Thief. While I own a copy of this one, haven‘t mustered up the courage to read it yet.

#QuotsyMar19 Day 28: #Footprint in one‘s consciousness to get the girl. I have not read any of Zusak‘s other novels for fear that they may not live up to The Book Thief. 😭📚🧚🏼‍♀️

Shan-nana It's going to be called 'The bridge of clay' - but he has no idea when it will be finished and has failed to write it for years (since before The book thief). We were lucky enough to to hear him read the first 6 pages from which I jotted down the following line: "As for the Murchinson's they were honest hairy people". @LauraJ 8y
