I really love this time travel/alternate history series! Chomping at the bit for the third one so I‘ll need to track that down asap. A LOT happens in this globe spanning epic w/ a large cast of characters, but it doesn‘t feel bogged down. I adore many of the characters (especially the Hollard siblings and their royal love interests 😉) and I think the author does a great job of not making the ancients stupid or inferior to the Nantucketers.

This installment doesn't quite live up to the first one but I still enjoyed my time with the characters (at least the good guys that is). There is a lart of darkness because the villains are so OTT evil and it is a military fantasy. A lot of this one deals with setting up alliances for what I assume will be the final showdown in book 3.

HeyT Also, this was my #DoubleSpin for January @TheAromaofBooks. It took me a while but I got there...finally lol. 1y

#BookReport
I had an abysmal reading week. I think I maybe read like ten pages total. Work has been crazy so I just kind of didn't have the mental energy for reading afterwards.

#WeeklyForecast
My goal is to make more progress in both books. They both have really tiny font so it feels like it's taking forever but if I get to 50% in either one I'll be happy with that for the week.

Rolo and I are RICE ing it up with a book today because I fell hard at derby practice last night and my pads could only do so much. My knee is swollen and there‘s a bruise forming but other than that it doesn‘t really hurt just feels stretched too tight from the swelling. Excellent excuse to do nothing but read though.

xicanti Oh no! I hope it heals quickly. 2y
Soubhiville Bummer. Hope you‘re back on skates soon. Enjoy the excuse to read! 2y

My goal was to read a big chunk of this during the week but oof at the minuscule text size. Definitely have to find my reading glasses.

You would think with my birthday happening tomorrow I would not be so shocked to find out that October is nearly upon us but here we are. I cannot wait for the new #BookSpin picks to come out. New to the list this month are the tagged and Grass.

RamsFan1963 If you end up reading Pump Six & Other Stories, be warned of "The People of Sand and Slag". It is, IMHO, one of the most heartbreaking animals stories I've ever read. I almost tossed the book at the conclusion. I cried, which is rare for me. 2y
HeyT @RamsFan1963 Oooooh thanks for the warning I truly appreciate it!
