Even if you don‘t enjoy poetry, I think there‘s a chance that this collection could prove to be the exception. It‘s worth picking up, especially if you like dark stories that focus on restoring dignity for victimized women.

Do you like poetry?

For National Poetry Month, my husband and I had planned to do a BookTube video devoted to poetry. We are clearly running out of time!

To answer my own question, yes, I love poetry, both to read and write. I‘m currently reading Cemetery Nights. Next in line is I Am Not Your Final Girl. I did indulge in a sneak peek by reading the first poem in Holland‘s book and all I can say is WOW!

Back on physical books because I want horror and it's easier to locate outside of my overstuffed kindle.

Love this vintage-looking cover down to the bit of scotch tape at the bottom! A collection of poems, each inspired by a different horror leading lady. The first section was a bit on-the-nose for me but I enjoyed seeing what Holland took from each film and the "Destruction" section was my fave! Very interesting premise, would recommend to feminist horror fans!

From the poem "Carrie" (each poem in this collection is inspired by a horror movie leading lady).
