I generally really go for stories where you flip between multiple characters and the book slowly reveals how they all come together but this was chunks - so you didn't even meet two of the characters until halfway through the book. I liked the plot, I just think it would have been stronger to weave the stories closer together.

Day29 #readjanuary #foodiefiction Part 2 Here's a handful of other more recent foodie fiction books that I enjoyed last year-ish and that I reviewed on my blog. Each inspired tasty recipes for food & drink like the (vegan) chocolate mousse inspired by the tagged book.📚🍴(Books are tagged below. Summer at Little Beach Street Bakery is a sequel so read Little Beach Street Bakery first.) 👍

Ncostell Was thinking of getting The Restaurant Critic's Wife earlier this week and just found right now that you can download the ebook for free if you have an Amazon Prime Account. 😀 8y
mcipher So I had read several of these - and then stacked the rest to read. Great list!! 8y
DebinHawaii @Hobbinol Thank you! @Ncostell It's a fun read. The author's husband is a good critic in real life. 👍😀 @mcipher Oh good! Hope you like them! 📚👍 8y

Like sweet tea and cheese straws- a little too sweet and a little too cheesy. It got better at Part Two, after one of the characters outgrew the author's stereotyped descriptions of what a gay boy is like. Just ok.

JSW @Penny_LiteraryHoarders this is an ongoing joke in our house when we go to Target. Somehow books, magazines, and candy just fall into our cart. We are very silly people. 8y
